Health and Wellbeing
The study of Health and Wellbeing at St Thomas supports children to develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. Pupils learn about healthy lifestyles, relationships, emotions, safety, and personal resilience.
Below is our current Health and Wellbeing curriculum overview. To ensure full coverage of the curriculum, and to provide all pupils with a broad, balanced and developmentally appropriate Health and Wellbeing education, learning in PSE and PE is planned progressively across the school.
Our curriculum has been carefully designed to support pupils’ physical, emotional and social development. PSE and PE are organised so that pupils revisit key concepts at an age‑appropriate level each year, building on prior learning and deepening their understanding over time. This approach ensures continuity, progression and equal learning opportunities for all pupils, regardless of class structure or year group.
The curriculum chart outlines the specific PSE and PE areas taught throughout the school, helping pupils develop the confidence, resilience, physical skills and personal awareness needed to support their health and wellbeing now and in the future.
