Attendance and Punctuality
At St Thomas Community Primary School, we believe that excellent attendance and punctuality are the foundations of success. Regular attendance ensures that students make the most of every learning opportunity, while punctuality helps develop good habits for life.
Why Attendance Matters
Every lesson counts – missing even a day can mean missing out on key learning.
Good attendance supports progress, achievement, and confidence.
Consistent attendance builds resilience and responsibility.
Why Punctuality Matters
Arriving on time shows respect for teachers, classmates, and the learning environment.
Lessons start promptly – being late means important instructions or learning are missed.
Punctuality is a valuable life skill, preparing students for future education and employment.
Our Expectations
Students should aim for at least 95% attendance across the school year.
All students are expected to arrive on time, every day.
Parents and carers should notify the school promptly if a child is unwell or unable to attend.
Working Together
We are committed to supporting families in maintaining excellent attendance. If attendance or punctuality becomes a concern, we will work closely with parents and carers to understand the reasons and offer appropriate support.
Together, we can ensure every child has the best chance to thrive, learn, and succeed.
